Once upon a time, in a land not too far away, a mom was thinking of a way
to make a little bit of money so she could afford to continue to be a SAHM.
She sat back and watched her darling daughter giggling as she finger
painted nearby. As she reached for her camera, she came up with an
idea! She will get Grandma Joyce to join her and they can open a
business photographing children! This is how Capture The Giggles
began. Now let us tell you about our company and our experience. Joyce began her love of photography in the early 1990's when she rose early one morning and drug out an old manual camera in hopes of capturing the beauty of her backyard near Honey Island Swamp. Her daughter, Joelle, had just graduated from college and moved to Florida, and Joyce wanted to give her a gift that would remind her of the beautiful bayous and live oaks of Louisiana while she was away. One of these first photographs captured the attention of a local calendar contest where she was awarded a cash prize and a place in the calendar. As her love and experience grew she began photographing the Uptown New Orleans area where her work has been featured in many calendars and sales promotions. Friends and relatives started asking Joyce to photograph their children and grandchildren – either in their own home – or in her backyard on the bayou. While attending graduate school in Florida, Joelle worked as a photography assistant and professional model for the Palm Beach Photographic Center. She has worked with many world famous photographers including Shelly Katz, Robert Farber, and Helene Dellilo. As a speech therapist specializing in children's play, she is able to quickly make friends with the little ones and often helps in capturing a giggle or two.
Capture the Giggles
specializes in capturing each child's unique individuality and spirit in
every picture. We encourage parents to join us in the creative
process. All pictures are shot on location. We travel to
Orleans, Jefferson, and St. Tammany Parish and specialize in babies,
children, families, parties, and maternity. Clients pay a one time
service charge which will include the digital photo setting, the cd-rom album, and reproduction rights.
Most often we recommend a one-hour photo session which costs $150.
Parties and large families may require additional time. Please call
